To add value into your detailing job, it's important to capture the 'before' and 'after' photos on your paintwork. A car with average condition (clean but not detailed) will easily look great when we capture the photo by applying the '5ft Rule'. Even if the same car has gone through some intensive detailing, it might just have slight improvement on the photo.
So how do we capture the impressive result on the photos? The only way is to sharpen your photography skills and get a good digital camera. Today a friend of mine lend me his Canon 350D DSLR. For extremely good quality optics, it's fitted with a Canon EF17-40mm f/4 L USM lens. For capturing paintwork surface texture, this is more than enough. For extreme cases, a macro lens such as Canon EF50mm f/2.5 Compact Macro or EF100mm f/2.8 Macro USM would be beneficial.
